Be Ye Also Ready

Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Readiness is a must when going somewhere.  We get ready for work. If going on a trip we pack our suitcase to get ready.  Have you checked your spiritual suitcase?  Have you readied yourself for the sure coming of Jesus Christ?  It must be done according to the Word of God.  When we are getting ready for a trip, we may be working on it and say things like “I’m almost ready” or you may be one of those who wait for the last minute to get ready.  It’s important spiritually to be ready now because the coming of Christ is imminent.  Are you truly ready to meet the Lord when the rapture takes place?

Look at the verse above.  Jesus said present tense–be ready.  Is there anything between you and the Lord? This is the first message I preached in 1974.  Now 50 years later the signs are being fulfilled.  Have you made the necessary preparations?  The very manner of what he said is to say be ready now!  Verse 27 says  For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  You know how lightning works.  A flash and then it’s gone.  Jesus is coming suddenly, quicker than the twinkling of an eye.  In the flash, the dead in Christ will rise first and their souls will be reunited with new, glorified bodies.  Those believers who are alive will then be caught up to meet them getting a new body on the way.  We’ll all meet the Lord in the air and be with him forever.  

Verses 40-42 give us a warning.  Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Some will be left behind.  There’s going to be a separation when the rapture takes place.  Those ready to go meet the Lord will be gone, but those who are not ready will be left behind.  It will be our greatest joy, but it will be their greatest horror.  They’ll realize they were wrong and beg for a second chance to get right and go.  Don’t be left behind.

There are signs.  Climate change may be the Lord getting the earth ready for a change.  Earthquakes are prevalent these days. It’s a godless society that calls good evil and evil good.  Don’t be deceived. The devil is using all his tactics, even going after children with all the alternate lifestyles.  Stay with Jesus.  Satan wants to keep people in the dark, religious but not saved.  So, are you truly ready?  Are all your sins confessed?  Are you holding back anything from the Lord? You can’t hide it.  Don’t let your mind be influenced by the world.  Listen to God and be ready to leave here and now.

I love this time of year.  I love life and I’m thankful for what I have, but the antichrist can have it all.  When Jesus comes I’ll have a new place to live.  Are you ready to face God right now with a clear conscience–nothing to be ashamed of?  Can you face him with what’s in your heart and life right now?
