I’ve Heard it Since Childhood by Eddie Foster

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The Bible reveals things about our hope in heaven. The way to eternal life is certain. Jesus prepared the way when he died on the cross and rose from the grave. It’s through and by the blood. Some aren’t willing to accept the simplicity of the plan of salvation. Ephesians 2 says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast. Jesus has gone to prepare the place and one day will come take us to it.  I was invited and accepted that invitation.  All the details of eternity are unknown, but I don’t have to fear.  I know the WAY. Verses 5-6 tell us that Jesus is the WAY.  God and man. As man, he gave his life. He redeemed us. That means he bought us back.  The plan is sufficient for everyone. I have been forgiven and am a joint heir with Jesus Christ to all the living God has. What’s the Son’s is mine!  The road to glory is straight and narrow but wide and big enough for all.  It’s the sure path to the Father.  Here are some truths about heaven.

Heaven is a home that’s real and permanent. It’s as sure a place as Marion. It’s literal and eternal. Jesus said if it were not so, I would have told you. Heaven is a place of rest. Do you ever wake up as tired as when you went to sleep? One day we’ll never be tired again. Here there are battles to fight and victories to win. There are no battles in heaven. No failures. There is a rest. Heaven is a place of the harmony of music. I love good music. In heaven it will ring out as we worship. We’re sing a new song that the angels cannot sing. Worthy is the Lamb. Heaven is the habitation of God. Revelation 21:3 says Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. He will be with us.  Heaven is a happy reunion. There will be a joyous homecoming one day when we meet all those gone on before us who also trusted in God.  There will be a holy completion of knowledge. Our knowledge will be made perfect. Things that trouble us here won’t mean a thing in heaven. Jesus will get us through.

Heaven is real. It’s the home of those who trust in the Lord.
