Matthew 18:19-20 IF and FOR play an important role in the message. Verse 19 says IF, proceeds with a statement, and ends with it shall. Verse 20 begins with FOR and comes to I AM THERE. Let's build on this.
There is conflict in a Christian's life. We have to go against the current, against Satan. We have an oasis in the desert, and it hinges on our gathering for the agreement. That oasis is the house of God. What more can we have?
He wants us to know that IF we gather in his name He will be with us, in the midst. We bring our hearts and souls together in the name of the Lord. FOR where two or three gather I AM THERE. We come, not because we have to but because we want to. Gathering should come natural. We should not have to decide each service time if we are coming; we should come. There have been times that all of us have missed, times when we could not come. The Lord NEVER misses. For anytime two or three gather He is here. If church has lost its meaning, it is time to take hold of Him who is always here.
Because He's here, IF two agree on anything it shall be done. IF we gather in Jesus' name, God will hear. This is not just an old church house. You are not just old brother so and so. When two of us gather and put Jesus in the midst, we will see things happen. The success of the church depends on the gathering and the agreement.
We have one life to live; there is nothing better for us, you and me, to meet with Jesus in the middle. Let's all agree and see just what the Father will do.
