This scripture is indeed true and I appreciate what it says. It speaks to all of us no matter our condition. You may be lost or backslidden. You may have health problems. No matter what you’re going through this can speak to you.
We’re living in a society that indoctrinates our children with all kinds of false teachings. We must stand on the solid rock of Jesus Christ to break free. You can do it through him. Many think they can follow any type of belief and style of Hollywood and it’s okay. People do not realize how in bondage they are. Christians don’t even realize it. Jesus says here that the way to be free of chains and bondages of life that tie us down is through him.
John 8: 28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. 30 As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Put your trust in Jesus and you’ll never be alone. Without Jesus there will be loneliness in hell, a feeling of being completely alone. I hope you get the same result Jesus did when he spoke this. They believed. Will you?
The ones who wanted a religion that allowed them to do what they wanted spoke against Jesus. Really listen to God and tune out the voices that advocate sin. The devil will use everything and every person to destroy your faith. Jesus said those who sin are controlled by it. That’s the life without Jesus. If you really want to be completely and purely free in the midst of it all, there is ONE who can pull you up. You cannot free yourself, but Jesus can break you free. If he makes you free you are free indeed.
He makes good on his promise. Stop trying to arrange your life. It’s not about us. It’s about Jesus. It’s not about laws that are being passed that “legalize” sin. It’s about Jesus. America is the current-day Babylon. Look back at Daniel. He survived the lion’s den in Babylon. The fiery furnace was in Babylon. Were those three Hebrews burned? No! We have to decide not to serve sin, defeat and failure. We can’t let life cause us to fall down and worship any other god. Those Hebrews men said no. They told the king they didn’t know if their God would deliver them but even if he didn’t they were still not going to bow down and worship anyone else but God. If he delivered: praise God. If he didn’t: praise God. Don’t trade your heavenly citizenship for anything in this world.
We may find ourselves at the door of the lion’s den or at the door of a fiery furnace. Realize that God cares for those who trust him. He said if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. How much freer could you be than by choosing life and truth over death and lies? Let’s continue to go by the KJV—the King Jesus Version.
If you’re in bondage, the only way to be free is to let the chain breaker set you free. Jesus said whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. You can trust Jesus to set you free. And if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
