To Die in the Lord

Revelation 14: 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

We miss our loved ones who’ve passed on and think of them on days like this.  They died in the Lord giving us reason not to give up.  Keep your heart right with God.  The same one who saved the believers is the Resurrection and the Life.  We can die in the Lord and live forever.  While our bodies lie in the grave, our soul is with the Lord.  On that great day of his coming he’ll bring our soul to be reunited with our resurrected, glorified body.  We’ll live in that new body on a new heaven and new earth.  All the old will pass away.  Our loved ones who chose to believe in Jesus Christ will be there.  Through him there is hope.  We receive him as personal Savior, choose to live for him, and then we can die right.  Can you say today that you’ll die in the Lord?  He must be in your heart with a daily profession of him in your life.  If that is true, he’ll bring you out one of these days.  The judgment of God is getting ready to fall.  Be ready.

The first scripture I can remember is from the grave of my aunt who was buried when I was five years old.  I remember mommy reading it.  “I am the resurrection and the life.”  Jesus said that and seeing it on the grave of a loved one puts hope in the heart.  You can die in the Lord and not be lost in the darkness of hell.  You can know that Jesus will be with you as you walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

What is it to die in the Lord?  It’s in the Book.  What’s going to happen is clear.  How to escape hell is there.  To come to the end of life and know your sins are forgiven can happen.  Jesus made the grave a bed and rose on Easter Sunday.  Because he lives we’ll live also.  Are you ready to die in the Lord?  Call on his name.  To die in the Lord you must receive him into your heart and trust him for the victory over sin.  When your eyes close in death you’ll just keep on going on in the Lord.  Your body may be in a grave but you’ll be with the Lord.  Dying in the Lord means you’re living in him now.  Are you?
