Message for 9/11

Our country is in sad shape. The Bible can’t be taught in schools but Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism can. Wouldn’t the 9/11 terrorist be proud of what is going on in America!

Matthew 25:While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

September 11, 2001 proved the condition of our nation.  We make the mistakes as the virgins who slept.  While the bridegroom tarried means they knew he was coming.  Many thought Jesus would come in 2000.  Y2K didn’t happen as some people feared.  One by one people stopped coming to church.  A great falling away happened.  People depended more on the government instead of God.  On 9/11/11 we woke still asleep in our souls.  We grew confident in our prosperity.  We became mechanical in our travail, a church of words but not action.  We just don’t see how late the hour is.  The very earth cries out fulfilling the signs of the time.

The bridegroom came at midnight.  Who gets married at midnight?  His entourage could clearly be seen in the darkness.  Those ready to meet him could go in.  Their lamps were trimmed and burning.  If you’re lost you’d better get saved.  If you slumber, it may be too late when you awake. We can put it off or we can step up.

Many thought America was on the verge of a great revival in 2001. Sadly, we’ve gone the other way.  The terrorist are the heroes.  Look at how far we have slipped.  Now we’re cemented in a universal cyber record.  Born again Christians are branded as enemy #1.  We have a choice:  slumber and be caught unaware or shine as we wait for the bridegroom.   Is it time to come?  Time to trim the lamps? We need a desire and motivation to shine our light till HE comes.
