A nation that throws down its foundation and walks and lives on top of the documents that created it is in trouble. It won’t be long until it is no more. Many great empires are now nothing but ruins in the desert. Americans have the right to be themselves but not at the expense of what is right. The basis of America is a Bill of Rights and a Constitution but more important is the Bible. Our founding documents will soon be done away with. The ungodly are not hiding their agenda. Most people thought the mighty Titanic would never sink. When the captain realized the gash in the ship he ordered an SOS. It did go down. Now some 240 years later America is sending an SOS. I could name sins starting with Washington and Hollywood and all parts in between. However, each of us has failed. If we want our leaders to be faithful to our founding documents we will first have to be faithful to God. We need to turn back to God with all our heart. I can’t force anyone else to do so but I can do something about this old boy. I can do something about me.
Psalms 12: Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.3 The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.7 Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever.8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.
This chapter is the plea. It’s time to turn around, turn back to God and his house. We need to stop identifying with Satan and be faithful to God. When he uses the word vanity in verse 2 he means things that don’t matter. People chase after what doesn’t matter. Mark it down. The Lord will cut off the lips and mouths of those against him. When we look at verse 4 we can see America. We’ve gone from one nation under God to a nation whose people think they are gods. God will take care of those who turn to him. Believe the Word. Don’t believe what you see on television. This Book is Truth. God will take care of us if we stay in his arms. He’ll preserve us if we stay with him. We may feel walked on and trampled on by the wicked. They jump up and down in their cesspools of iniquity. God will judge.
Chapter 12 is the plea; chapter 13 is the solution. This is what we need to adopt in our heart. Here we’re called to pray.
Psalms 13: How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? forever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;4 Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.6 I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Let’s sing these verses of God is So Good.
God is so good. God is so good. God is so good to me. He answers prayer. He answers prayer. He answers prayer. He’s so good to me. God will prevail. God will prevail. God will prevail. He’s so good to me.
