Psalms 95: O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. 3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. 5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. 6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. 7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice.
Make a joyful noise to our rock. There is a solid foundation to our life. It’s my choice what to do with my home. It’s my choice what to do with my life. I can build on the rock or not. We should be about the Father’s work. We’ve got jobs. Some are retired but all we do should glorify God. It starts with a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving.
King Nebuchadnezzar thought his kingdom was of his own making. God warned him and he lost his mind for seven years. He got a taste of who was in control. When he regained his sanity he praised the Lord. His grandson Belshazzar ruled later. He was having a party and asked for the vessels of the temple to be brought to drink from. You know he heard his grandfather talk about what he experienced and yet he ignored it. He knew better but still went against the Lord. We have to humble ourselves and recognize God as the Almighty God. If you choose not to have God in your life he won’t intrude. God will knock on your heart’s door but you have to let him in. It’s a shame to see people turn him away.
You and I should understand the importance of a life of thanksgiving. Do you understand that your life is not yours? Scripture warns us what we’re to do. One story tells of those given talents by their master. Two of them did something with the talents. One did not. He was cast into outer darkness. You can do what you want. That’s serving yourself and not God. Are you willing to lay your life at the feet of Jesus?
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. There is no other who can compare to God. I have a Savior and a Bible who backs it up. If someone says it’s not true, ask them to prove it. Don’t you think that in Jesus’ day that any proof that said Jesus wasn’t who he said would have surfaced? It didn’t. There was no way to disprove who and what he was so lies and paying off people to dispute the truth was used.
We can accomplish great things when we keep him on the throne of our heart. You may be saved but is he Lord of your life? We will do pretty much what our employer tells us to do because he signs our paycheck. The Lord signs our eternal paycheck. Maybe we need to do what he says. We may be uncomfortable with the task but we must love and honor God. The things we can’t understand he holds in his hand. You have to listen to the voice of the Lord. Find a quiet spot and listen. We’re good talkers but we need to stop and listen. Pray and then let him speak.
