He Giveth Power to the Faint

Isaiah 40: 28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

This is the Lord speaking to Isaiah for us and through Isaiah to us.  This was spoken many years ago but God is the same.  Jesus Christ is the same.  As we live in this world we see that times are bad.  The Bible calls these days them the ‘days of Noah’ and ‘days of Sodom and Gomorrah’. The wickedness of the world rises to God and the prayers of his people for relief reach him.  God is willing to work if we let him. He doesn’t get tired and weak like we do.  The relentless pushing of the devil gets to us but remember God dealt with Lucifer and he was no match for God.  There are no other real gods and we are to have no other gods before him.  All the gods of this world are no match for our God.

Compared to other nations America has it easy.  In other countries Christians are being put to death.  We’re down in Babylon.  America has become that and it can get to us.  As the wickedness gets closer we feel weak.  We lose our comfort zone.  Where we are weak God is strong.  Just because the going is tough and the labor hard doesn’t matter.  If Jesus Christ is your Savior remember that all power was given to him in heaven and in earth.  There is more for you than against you.  Believers exist in every country.  They may be weak and beaten down but God is helping them and will help you.  He has all power!

You may feel you’re running on empty.  It’s time to pull up to the filling station.  You’d think people would come to God instead of turning away.  You’re going to run out of gas.  Fill up on the Word.  We can’t live long on our own power and ingenuity.  It’s by God that we’ll make it!  Now is the time to cling to the old rugged cross.  We’re weak but God is not.  He’s the everlasting God and will never stop being God.  Jesus will always be Savior.  He’ll always be Lord.  The devil is not Lord over anything.  God is not another Lord.  He’s not in a list of other religions.  He’s THE Lord. He doesn’t sit on the dashboard of my car waiting for my hail, Mary.  He’s not Allah or Buddha.   He’s the invisible God and we can experience him.

Odds may seem against you. Open the eyes of faith.  Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world!  God has ISIS surrounded.  All the wicked and abominable are surrounded by God.  Ask the Lord and he will give power to the faint.  The devil can turn the screws and get us worn out and weary.  Our resources may be depleted.  Come for a fill up.  Faith is there and it depends on where we direct it.

The devil knows he is no match for God, but he deceives many into thinking he’s in charge.  God’s people will come through if we follow that which is good.  Jesus said come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.  He wants us to dig in and stand up but he wants us to realize we can’t do it on our own.  The battle is the Lord’s and we need his power, his help.

If we confess our weakness, it puts us in position to receive the power of God.  Give him your weakness and the ends of your ropes.  He’ll turn you around.  It’s time to hook up to Jesus.  The God who saved you is the same God on the same throne and if he had power to save you, he can help you now.  Ask for it.  Turn to the Lord.  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. (Isaiah 41:10)
