He is the God

He is the God.  This is what the people said on Mount Carmel.  The altars were built to God and Baal.  Upon praying to each, Baal gave no answer.  God did.  The people responded by falling on their faces and saying the Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

I Kings 18: 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

This is where we are.  The world is in the same shape, our country and every other.  It’s the modern day, but the devil is the same; we have the same force of darkness.  That’s the problem.  Israel was at its low with King Ahab.  Every kind of wickedness was ushered in.  Any god—make it, put it up and worship it.  That was normal.  The true God was left out.

King Ahab looked at Elijah and accused him of troubling Israel.  Elijah told him it was him and his wife who troubled the nation.  No matter how farfetched things are today, it is normal.  Sensibility is abnormal.  Let them call us abnormal.  It only matters what God says.  It matters very much who and what you believe.  People worship anything and everything.  We can make something a god all the while nothing about it is God, including opinions of man.  The Lord, he is the God.  That has always made the world mad.  Regardless of what others say, the God is in heaven.

When King Ahab didn’t get his way he pouted like a baby.  If we buck the system, leaders get mad at pout at us and each other.  People set themselves up because they have power to execute orders.  That means nothing.  There is nothing good about man and never will be.  Satan is a fallen angel.  He is the prince of darkness.  He is not a god.  You don’t have to follow the devil.

Elijah stood up against what was going on.  It’s time we stand for God and not the ways of the world.  There is a place to plant your feet and trust God.  Don’t be afraid of powers in this world.  Our God is greater.  His power is most powerful.  Who is he that will harm you if you follow the Lord?  Who is God?  It’s not Ahab.  It’s not Jezebel.  She was merely someone who set herself up as a celebrity.  She thought she was somebody.  Don’t seek a name.  It will get you in trouble.  You’ll be on YouTube or Facebook and it won’t be good.  Maybe it’s time to unplug.  My God doesn’t run on battery or have to be plugged in.  He is the only all powerful, all knowing God.  Everybody wants to be something.  God isn’t a want to be.  HE IS!  He is interested in those who acknowledge him just like Elijah and the people did.  When they fell on their face and acknowledged God, the rain that had been withheld for three years came.  Acknowledge God for who he is—the one true God.

It’s not too late for God to bless.  It’s not too late for God to save.  It’s not too late to escape judgment.  It’s not too late for us if we’ve backed down and are not the person we used to be for God.   It’s time to call on the name of the Lord and acknowledge him.  Rise up and be the people of God.  Stand in the name of the Lord.  Having done all to stand, stand.  Even I know who the God is.  All I need to do is trust him.  What more could we want than the Lord?

Elijah didn’t go by the grave.  He left here in a chariot of fire.  That’s better than going to Florida!  He then saw the God who sent the fire on Mount Carmel with joy.  He was in his presence.  We’ll all stand before him.  He’s still the God.  There is no other God and nothing else matters.  We’re nothing.  The Lord is God.  Let’s acknowledge him for help to be his servants.
