Are you really ready for the King? If I asked you if you’re ready for the trumpet to sound, are you? Are you really ready? If you had knowledge that Jesus is coming today, would you make changes in your life? Ready or not he’s coming. If you think or hope you are ready, that’s not enough. Just like Palm Sunday was won’t happen again, the coming of Jesus to take believers home won’t happen twice. You have to be ready when he comes.
Here Jesus is making his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Many people thought they were ready but they weren’t. In less than one week the people would act much differently than they did that day.
Luke 19: 35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
Jesus’ entry that day was a sudden thing. The prophecies said he would suddenly come to his temple. The timing was shown in Daniel’s vision. It should have been common knowledge to the Sadducees and Pharisees that it was time. It was right to the day. The Jews knew this. As Americans we don’t comprehend it. The High Priest knew it was time and knew how he would appear. That same thing is happening today. If you can’t see how close we are to the coming of the Lord, you are simply denying the obvious just as they did in Jesus’ day. It’s been 2,000 years since the Lord promised to come back for the saved. I can almost see him coming. The exact moment only the Father knows, but the times and seasons are plain to see. There is a great un-readiness. There is strong delusion and un-readiness. People give little thought to it, but are you really ready?
Jesus didn’t announce himself when he was born. Angels did that. When he stepped out into his ministry it was John the Baptist who pointed him out. For the next three years others announced Jesus. The disciples went ahead. The townspeople told it. He didn’t send messengers that he was coming over the Mount of Olives that day to declare himself the Messiah. Look at nature. Look at geologic events. Look at society. It is all working together to a central point—the coming of the anti-Christ and a one-world system. We’re only moments away from time and the orders to be microchipped. Your whole life’s story is already known. Ready or not, the King of Glory is coming. If you’re not ready, you’ll be left behind and the king of darkness will take your soul.
The disciples thought they were ready but by Friday they had deserted him. The people had a different picture of him. The political realm had a different picture of a Messiah. All thought they were ready but had a different picture of how it would be. Jesus was not what they expected. It was because of their un-readiness and deception of their hearts.
Are you ready in a moment to let go? It will be like the sun explodes. It will be morning on one side of the earth and night on the other side. If the trumpet sounds, are you really ready to leave? The disciples thought they were ready, but they weren’t. The leaders were looking for another type of Messiah, not Jesus. The same goes today. People assumed they were God’s people but weren’t. Jesus is not coming to fix the world. He’s coming to take out the believers, and the judgment will fall. We’re in the beginning of sorrows now.
The children knew who Jesus was. They tugged at him. The Pharisees rebuked them, but they knew. The people knew not it was the day of their visitation. Today is your day of salvation. You’ve had the opportunity many times before but time is running out. Look at what’s coming this year and next with the moon and sun. There will be multiple lunar and solar eclipses in ways that haven’t been heard of in thousands of years. Tuesday night will be a blood moon, a total lunar eclipse. This term isn’t a spiritual one; it was coined by the astronomical world. That’s what scientists call it. These are celestial signs. You must be ready to let go of this world. I’m not saying Jesus is coming Tuesday. These things happen near the coming and during the days of judgment.
Jesus came and the people missed him. Today you don’t have to miss Jesus. Are you ready, really ready? Now is time to get ready. The King is coming, ready or not. To go with him, you have to be ready.
