Isaiah 9: 2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
I’m thankful to have experienced the performance of His promise. All of us who sat in darkness have seen a great light. In the dark times the light shines through. Those who trust God and have sat in the valley of the shadow of death have seen the light.
We have a perfect King who will have a perfect government. When Jesus bore the cross he bore the wickedness and brokenness of humanity. He shouldered a perfect government who would have one ruler. When considering the King we see perfection. In trusting him we find him truly Wonderful. His counsel is sweeter than the honeycomb. The Mighty God fights for us and wins. He takes care of us like the perfect Father he is. We are imperfect, but our Savior and Father are perfect. They are everlasting.
As we have Jesus we have peace. The summers and winters of our lives are bearable because of Jesus. He is Wonderful. In knowing him we know the perfect peace of his way.
