The message was brought by Rev. Jack Sprinkle.
Revelation 7: 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
There will be no need for prayer in heaven. There will be no need for the sun, moon, and stars. Those in heaven will not have a need or want that will not already be there. There is a prayer meeting that will take place, but the prayers won’t be heard or answered. Needs will not be met. I’m talking about the prayer meeting that takes place in hell.
If we could uncap hell and hear what goes on there, I’m sure our attitudes would change. Church ought to be recognized as an important part of our lives. It’s more important than the hospital. Your pastor is more important than the doctor. Jesus is the head of the church and its foundation. It should dominate and control us. I can remember the time that the church ruled the community. Now it’s the other way around.
When will this prayer meeting be held? We have ears to hear and listen. We have eyes to see the reality around us. No one who goes to hell has to go there. Jesus didn’t just die for us. He died for everyone ever born from the very beginning to the end. This prayer meeting takes place after death. Contrary to what some say, death doesn’t end it all. In fact, things just begin at death. We’ll be somewhere forever, either heaven or hell. People who go to hell will pray and beg to get out. Hell was not made for humanity but for the devil and his angels. Once a person occupies hell, the door to mercy is closed. This prayer meeting won’t be held in a nice building like this church. It will be a miserable place. Even though a person sincerely prays in hell, it won’t be heard by God. If we get a prayer through to God, it will have to be done this side of the grave. Hell is real. There is a devil. There is a God. There is a heaven. Today is the time to make preparations for eternity.
Who will attend this prayer meeting? Great men in the eyes of others will be there. A good or great name doesn’t give immunity to hell. The only immunity is the blood of Jesus. This judgment will reach all people of all ages; none is excused without the blood. Rich will be there. Money won’t buy the way out. Poor will be there. Educated and uneducated will be there. Those who have no time for prayer here will do it there. We choose where we’ll go, and if we don’t pray here, we will there. Only thing is—it won’t be heard there.
Why are they praying? They see the reality they are in. They realize their mistake. When I cut off my thumb the worst thought to me was that it shouldn’t have happened. It was a dumb mistake that could have been avoided. The reality of hell is that people don’t have to go there. Today people have lost the fear of hell and going there. Once there, people will realize their guilt. They will realize they were wrong. They’ll wonder why they listened to the devil. They will see the joy of heaven and realize what they missed. Hell is a place to be afraid of, to be aware of. Why do people deny Jesus and “burn up the road” trying to get there? Don’t let your guard down. There is no place to quit. Be faithful for the sake of those who aren’t.
What is the order of this prayer meeting? There will be no singing at this prayer meeting like there was in the service tonight. There will be no Bible reading. There will be a lot of blaming, kicking and screaming. The Bible says there will be weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. There will be no love in hell. People there will be there forever with no way to get out. There is no pardon. Once there you will not pay your sin debt and get released.
Shouldn’t we take hell seriously? There will never be anything like it. Let’s serve the Lord to the fullest capacity we can.
You will pray somewhere. In hell it won’t be heard. Here it will be. Why not pray now? Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess the Lord. Why not do it here where it will count?
