Rev. Larry Parks brought the message.
Psalms 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Unity means to be as one. Things happen to all of us that work on us and tear us apart. We are not to let them get to us and hinder our unity. When people do things to us that hurt us, we have to let it go. God helps us do that. There is only one church of God. We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ and have to get along. The Sunday school lesson this morning from John told us that we have to love each other. If we don’t love each other and say we love God we are lying.
Jonah had more pity on the gourd that God gave him than he had on the people of Nineveh. God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death. Then said the Lord, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night. God asked should not I spare Nineveh. Jonah needed to show love for the people.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Imagine how God could bless with a revival if everything was taken care of between people. God has not changed. He can still work if we let him, and it would be pleasant.
