An Everyone’s Savior

Luke 4: 40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.41 And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.42 And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.44 And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

Jesus purposed in his ministry to cover territory above and beyond Israel.  Whether welcomed or not, it was where he was supposed to be.  We should have been at Calvary, but the reason Jesus came was to go in our place where we should have gone.  He lived the greatest earthly life ever lived.  He had an impact on all who met him.  He went to the people.  Note the scope of his reach.  We see the size of his heart.  ALL they.  ANY sick.  ALL KINDS (divers) of  diseases.  EVERY ONE of them.  He laid his hands on every one of them.  He had personal contact regardless of disease and condition.  People we wouldn’t dare touch, Jesus did.  This was not atypical.  It was the mark of his ministry.  Everything he did then and now is for everyone.  He made himself available.  Never think Jesus is not interested in you or that you’re beyond his reach and ability.  Everyone—one word meaning all—and every one—two words meaning individually—is important to Jesus.  Guess what.  He loves you!  You can have Jesus all to yourself. I can too. That’s not humanly possible, but with Jesus it is possible.

As the sun was setting, the people came in.  Jesus had a busy day.  He had been in the synagogue.  He had taught.  He had healed the demoniacs.  He healed Peter’s mother-in-law. She got up and fixed supper for them.  No sooner had he done this than the people started coming in.  Matthew says it was so crowded that the people could hardly see out of the house.  Everybody was after Jesus, and he was after every one of them.  He didn’t say ‘enough is enough’ and send them away.  He helped anybody and everybody.    There was nowhere else for them to go.  No one else can help us.  We owe everything to Jesus.

He would leave there and go to other regions.  Everywhere he was needed he showed up.  He was faithful.  Don’t feel left out.  Jesus included you in his plan.  It was a 100%, A to Z plan.  If he couldn’t help us, he wouldn’t have done what he did.  He helps in our every need.  The Bible tells us we can go boldly to the throne of grace and find help in the time of need.  He remains and forever will be the only Savior for individuals.  The devil will tell you that you’re beyond help.  Get that notion out of your mind.  Jesus helped all manner of diseases.  You name it.  He can help.  He will deliver you because he delivered all of them.  That means all of us can be delivered and find help.  There is nothing unfixable to Jesus.  You’re not beyond help.  Trust him to help you.  If those full of demons were not beyond help, you’re not.  He commanded the devils to come out and they did.  They knew who he was.  Do you know who he is?  He’s your Savior.  He’s my Savior.  He’s everyone’s Savior.  People’s lives are turned around by Jesus.

You may think it won’t work for you.  The Bible says he laid his hands on them.  It doesn’t say it worked for some and not for others.  It says that he healed them.  Why can’t we accept that Jesus will work for us?  It works because it is Jesus who does it.  We all have a condition.  That’s why Jesus came.  He knows your condition and can fix it.

You do have enough faith because it’s not so much about the size of faith as much as in whom you put it.  Jesus has all power in heaven and earth, and it’s at your disposal.  He went to the desert place; the people followed him.  He gave them assurance that even though not there he still cared.  He helps people all over the world and can do it all at one time.  Jesus didn’t need to be there physically to help them spiritually.

You may say “I can’t get to him.”  If you really try to do it, you will get there.  The distance that’s hard for you to breach is easy for him.  Never say you can’t get to him.  You can.  Jesus has a way of being within reach of everybody.  You start and you’ll find him.  Your step of faith is your only hindrance.  Go.  Come to Jesus with your impossibilities.  Come with your life and whatever is troubling you.  Jesus has given us all the ability to come our little distance.  You’ll find him and the joy of the touch of the Master’s hand.

He’s everyone’s Savior.  He’s every one’s Savior.
