Brought Me Through Waters

Brother Jimmy Taylor brought the message.

Ezekiel 47: 1Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. 3And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. 4Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. 5Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.

I want you to notice that he went into waters at his ankles.  He went to waters to his knees.  He went to waters to his loins.  Then he went to waters that I could not pass over

The book of Jeremiah tells us that before we were formed in the belly that God knew us.  He has a purpose for us.  Paul tells us that all things work together for good to them that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.  Peter says we desire the sincere milk of the word to grow by.  We aren’t born into this world eating the hard food.  We grow into it.  God won’t put us in waters we can’t handle.  He works a little at a time and helps and provides for us.  Our purpose is to serve God.

Water has a purpose.  Samuel pulled himself from Saul because the Lord had departed from him.  God told him to get over Saul and go to the house of Jesse and anoint the new king.  Jesse’s sons came and went, but God rejected them one after another.  Seven sons went before Samuel.  He questioned if there were others.  His youngest son David was tending sheep.  While we look on the outward appearance, God looks on the heart.  He knew David’s heart.  When Samuel saw David, God told him to anoint him.  He took the oil and David began walking in the waters at his ankles.

Time went on.  There was a battle between Israel and the Philistines.  For 40 days the giant cursed God and Israel.  The people were scared to death.  When we get scared at the world and the devil, remember greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.  Some of Jesse’s sons were in the army.  He sent David to them with food to check on them.  While he was there, the giant came out.  David heard him and asked who this man was to defy God?  He went in water to his knees.  One young boy got glory for God.

His brothers told him to go home.  David asked is there not a cause?  Is there not a reason?  There is a reason to live for Lord.  He’s with us and watches over us.  We can talk to him at any time.  He has a home prepared for us in heaven.  If you don’t want to get in water with the Lord, don’t get in.  When you start for the Lord, plan to go all the way.  God had plans for me when I got saved.  I couldn’t talk to people or get front of others.  Now I preach.  I got in water to my loins.

David volunteered to fight and the water was to his loins.  David told Saul about the lion and the bear that he killed by help of Lord.  He saw this Philistine giant no differently than the animals.  God would take care of him.  He took five stones into his shepherd’s bag, and with his sling he went to face the giant.  He made fun of him.  The devil would have us think God doesn’t care about the situations we’re in.  He will make fun of us.  David told him that he came in the name of the Lord.  He realized God had to fight this battle.  He trusted him to do it.  These were waters that he could not pass over.  He knew he couldn’t fight the giant without the Lord.  He did what God wanted.  He took a stone and slung it and let God do the rest.  He took over and the stone landed in the giant’s forehead.  David stood upon him.  He didn’t have a sword, so he took the giant’s sword and cut off his head.  God brought him through.

The time will come when we can’t do anymore.  We have to let God move.  If you want revival in your heart, you can get have it by getting in the water and letting God take you all the way.  You must be willing to get in the water.  Are you?
