God’s Maybe

Zephaniah 2:  3Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’s anger.

Consider in your heart, regardless of your station in life, what this scripture is saying.  It just may be that the Lord will hear.  It just may be that the Lord will save today.

The most common response I get when I ask people about their soul is “maybe I will.”  “Maybe someday I’ll get saved.”  Maybe.  This attitude is a terrible mistake.  We ought to remember that maybe is in God’s power, not ours.  Never consider God’s call a maybe thing.  When urged to do something and you say “maybe” it is a clear indication that you probably won’t do it.  You think you have the option to be saved.  You do, BUT you don’t have a maybe.  We don’t have the luxury of saying “maybe.”  It’s of God’s mercy that he speaks to us at all.

See how folks are already praying at this altar? Each realizes the value of God’s offer and the preciousness of the drawing of His Spirit. Why not come on now?  Let’s just halt the preaching, and get to responding… while the Lord is so near.

Preacher Bob didn’t get to finish his message. People were praying at the altar.  Two people were saved in the service.  We praise the Lord for that.
