Bro. Jack Sprinkle brought the message on Wednesday night of the revival.
Does God do everything himself? He certainly could. We’ll see how he uses angels to work for him.
Hebrews 1:4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
I believe that each of us has at least one angel; we may have multitudes. They are there for specific reasons. Angels are mentioned 38 times in the book of Revelation. They are of great importance to God. The Holy Ghost works within you, not on the outside. He deals through the conscience and the mind. On the other hand, angels act as outside agents. They work around you.
You are never alone. Psalm 34:7 says “the angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” The angels work to deliver those who fear God. God has an interest in you. In the story of Elisha and his servant in II Kings 6:16 we read “and he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” They were surrounded by the enemy. Elisha’s servant was afraid. When Elisha prayed for the servant’s eyes to be opened, he saw the host of God all around them. They were with them. The angels were there to deliver Elisha and his servant. Satan can’t outnumber God.
Let’s look at how they helped people in the past.
In Daniel chapter 10 we find him praying for the people. They were in trouble. He put a petition before God for help. Twenty-one days went by with no answer. Finally the angel Michael showed up and told Daniel that his prayer was heard when it was prayed but he was hindered in getting to him with the response. God’s angel was at work for this prophet.
An angel got Peter out of jail. He was set to be beheaded the next day. In John Mark’s house the church was praying for Peter’s deliverance. An angel of God came to Peter. He was chained between two guards. He woke him up. The chains fell off; the soldiers didn’t even wake up. He told Peter to come with him. Even with the angel there, Peter had to do his part in obeying and following him. Sometimes we can get in the way of our own deliverance. When God leads, we have to follow.
Angels are here to help us right now. If our eyes were opened to see the spirit world, we’d see angels all around this church.
Not only do they help us, angels help God. They are here to pass judgment. Angels came to Abraham on the way to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. They are here to do the work of God. Two angels left Abraham’s tent and went onto the city. The third person, Jesus, stayed back with Abraham. He agreed to spare the city for 50 righteous people. He went on down in number agreeing to spare it for 10. The two were there in the city waiting to drop the judgment. They did.
They are here to help you; they’re here to help God. They’re here to help us get the victory. Always remember “for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
