II Corinthians 9:11 “Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God.”
This scripture says a great deal and gets to the heart of thanksgiving. Paul worded it correctly when he said “many thanksgivings.” He gets individual with us.
We practice thanks for the church and our food. Paul said “many.” He’s teaching us about the experience of thanks for individual things. God does something for us every minute of the day. Verse 11 says we are “enriched in everything to all bountifulness.”
Many times we focus on the bad things or what we do without. Here we’re reminded there are so many things to be thankful for. The blessings are bountiful. It should motivate us to consider how good God is in every area of our life—not in a general way but individual blessing after blessing.
This year let’s be mindful of the many things—the many individual things God gives us.
