God Remembers

Brother Jimmy Taylor began the revival with a message called “God Remembers.”

Genesis 8:1 “And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged.”

Aside from our sins of the past, God remembers everything about us. Our work for the Lord is remembered. In the minds of others it was silly for Noah to build a boat, but he did it because the Lord told him to. He preached 120 years. The time came for the animals to enter, but only Noah and his family went in. God was willing for others to get on board, but no one did. God shut the door. It rained 40 days and nights, but God remembered where they were. The Bible says God knows our frame; we are only dust. He knows us inside out. He knows what we need. How? He’s and all-knowing God and he remembers us.

God remembered the cry that came from Sodom and Gomorrah. He came to Abraham and told him he was going to destroy the city. Abraham had family there. What would become of them? Abraham began to ask God about the city. Would he save it for 50 righteous people? Yes.  Would he save it for 45? Yes.  On down the line it went. God remembered Abraham. We should be as concerned about our family members who are about to be destroyed in hell. Just as Abraham’s family needed his prayers, our family needs ours. Abraham stood between the Lord and the destruction. We should do the same for our people today.

When Abraham was 100 and Sara was 90, God told them they would have a child. It took time for God to fulfill  his plan so Sara took it upon herself to interfere. She gave Abraham to her handmaid Hagar. They had a son named Ishmael. Abraham and Sara had a son of their own, and over time Ishmael mocked Isaac. Sara would have none of that and told Abraham that Hagar and Ishmael needed to leave. Abraham prayed and sent her away with water and bread. When she ran out, she knew she would watch her son die. God remembered her and her son. He came to her; out of her son would also come a great nation. It turned into a heathen nation, but God remembered Hagar.

The book of Numbers tells us Moses was to give out trumpets to sound out warnings.  When certain types of trumpets were blown, the people would know what was going on. An alarm trumpet would blow when they went out to war, and God remembered them. All we have to do is “blow our trumpet.” God will remember us in our time of trouble. What’s your situation? No job? No money? God knows. He knows your high and low spots. When you’re oppressed, blow the trumpet.  God remembers our needs even if no one else knows about them. He said he’d be with us until the end of the world. When we fail, God still cares. When Jesus was on the cross, thieves were on either side. One cried out “save yourself and us.” The other knew they were there justly; he turned to the Lord and said “remember me.” Jesus said “today thou shalt be with me in paradise.”

What are you facing? What does your church face? God remembers every message and song that’s been sung here. Do you want revival? God will send it if you do. God will remember you.
