Snow Day Prayer Meeting Sermon–the repeat

Who would have “thunk” it.  We were unable to have prayer meeting about this same time in 2009. How about a repeat of the sermon that was on here then?  The message is still true today.

“And of some have compassion, making a difference…”   Jude 22-23.

Have compassion and make a difference. As Christians we have the potential to make a difference in the world. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we become a new creature. We put off the old and put on the new; however, we can have trouble with a carnal nature.

Paul told the Ephesians in chapter four not to walk as other Gentiles, in the vanity of their mind. God gives us those same directions. Don’t be like the world; don’t act like the world; don’t fashion ourselves after the world. We insult God when we try to be like the world around us. We are not to operate by the world’s philosophy. The culture of the kingdom of God is not of this world. God’s culture is our only standard, and it is the standard of holiness.

Continually pursue the difference salvation has brought to your life. If we are to reach the unsaved, they must see the difference. Otherwise our influence will be little. We are driven by a higher motivation. We have an identity. We have purpose.

Enjoy being different. Don’t hide from it. Show the world how much you enjoy your walk with God. Show your satisfaction with being a Christian. Only then will you MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
