Roger Clark brought the message.
Matthew 26:36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
Jesus is the sinless Son of God. He took upon himself the sin and pollution of this world. He chose to do the Father’s will. There have been great men, but they have had greater men above them. They stand tall, think they’re the best, yet there is one who is greater and supreme over all. We must look to him. He is Jesus.
- Jesus is higher in his nature. He was all God and all man. While other men have flaws, he does not. He has no weaknesses. Jesus is much higher in his nature than any other. He is higher than our sins and is capable to forgive them. He was the son of God and the Father was well pleased with him. He is higher and much higher in his nature.
- Jesus is higher in helpful service. No one ever cared like Jesus. Many care only about wealth. They seek after the world. Others are then prone to look at them while they down on others. Jesus went about helping and comforting others. He lent a helping hand. He touched and healed so many. He is much higher in his service to others.
- He is higher in his submission. He let God play out his map. Jesus said “nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” He did not turn away. He set his face toward Calvary. We need to please the Father. Let God map out our lives. Give ourselves to him. He bore in his body our sins to give himself to us. He is higher and much higher in his submission.
- He is higher in his influence. Jesus is the centerpiece of the human race. No one has affected the world like he has. All will be well if we follow him. By our trust in him, we’ll wake up in glory. He is higher and much higher in his influence.
The world has nothing to offer. Jesus cares for us. Can we not do a little more in helpful service? Can we not have more influence? Let’s go higher in his name.
