“And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told concerning the Child. ” Luke 2:17
This time of year, our thoughts often turn to those who are less fortunate than we. Sometimes we will choose a family or an individual in this situation and discreetly buy them a gift, give them some money, or take them some food. This is very noble and scriptural. This year, along with considering the physical and financial needs of others, consider giving them the something most needed, yet often unrealized—the plan of salvation. It will cost you nothing from your bank account, only your time and your courage.
The first thing the shepherds did after meeting the Christ Child was to go into town, in the middle of the night, and wake everyone up! They were excited. They were burdened. They couldn’t sleep until those that did not know what had happened were told. So they told them. Did they ever! From the smallest to the greatest, they left no one out. What an example to us. What a perfect Gift! There is still plenty of time before Christmas. And you don’t have to wait in long lines at the checkout, that’s for sure!
Below is the Plan. Cut it out, brush up on it with your Bible, pray, and then head out. As you give, you will be in for a surprise. You will receive a gift in return! God will see to that! It will not only make someone’s Christmas, but their life after Christmas as well. And it will make yours too.
LEADING SOMEONE TO JESUS- (Book of Romans)
THE APPROACH
- Take it slow, be friendly, non-aggressive.
- Look for a certain need to work from.
- Bring up the topic of the church (how God is blessing).
- Lead into a personal testimony.
Ask these Questions: (expect Satan to begin).
- How are things with you and the Lord?
- Have you considered accepting the Lord?
- Can I take the Bible and show you how?
