Jack Sprinkle brought the message.

I Peter 2:24 who his own self bare our sins in his
own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto
righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Sin has a price. Wages are earned. Sin’s wages is death. If
Jesus had not died, we would have had to die for ourselves.  Before there ever was a man, God had devised
a plan. There is one plan and that is through the blood of Jesus Christ.  On the flip side is a gift. You don’t earn a
gift either. It is simply given. The gift of God is eternal life to those who
take their sins to the cross.

At one time we all were dead in trespasses and sins. Because
of Adam’s sin we inherited the nature of sin. Death was placed upon us all by
Adam. Death is a sack on our back. It is an eternal death. God created no one
to go to hell. A baby is born in sin but protected until he or she realizes
right from wrong and is able to make a decision. This is the age of
accountability and some reach it younger than others; some never reach it. Adam
and Eve were innocent until they sinned; they made a choice. Jesus said we have
to come as humble as a child. He told the disciples to not keep the children
from coming to him “for such is the kingdom

of God.”

In our fallen state we are walking dead people—dead in our
trespasses and sins. This sin must be taken to the cross. Many people take it
there but don’t leave it. Jesus died to cleanse us, but some can’t seem to
leave the sin there and let God forgive them. Not leaving our sin there is not
talking about the sins we commit after we are saved. We make our journey up to
the cross and continue from there. We’re not a perfect people, but God has
called us to become a new creation in Jesus. This new creation is of great
value to the Lord.
