saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a
feast unto me in the wilderness.
Just as God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt, He wants to deliver us today from those who want to stamp out Christianity. Until we obligate ourselves to God, He has no obligation to us. Jesus said "knock" and "it shall be opened." He said "seek" and "ye shall find." He said if you "thirst, then "come drink." Our obligation must come first.
The children of Israel had been in the bondage of Egypt for 430 years. Why did God wait so long to deliver them? Why was it this way–because in all their struggles they did nothing. They said they could not sing the songs of Zion in a strange land. It kept getting worse and worse and harder and harder on them, but God didn't come to their rescue. Did He not see their dilemma? Of course He did. They were not visited by God because they continued to serve the Pharaoh.
The people never called upon the Lord in 430 years. God deals with individuals. One got the ball rolling. He told someone who told someone that they needed to call on God, and He was under no obligation to deliver them until they asked Him. God heard their cry and obligated Himself to them.
We have gotten to the point today that we do not call out to God. When we relax and trust our dilemmas to the Lord, He will work for us too. God is waiting. He can move. He cannot be out done. He is above all. He is simply waiting for us to make a move. Are we ready to be delivered?
Israel wandered around that mountain for 40 years when they could have gotten to the Promised Land in a few days. The church today is just wandering around and around. We're not obligating ourselves to God. Quit tonight. Obligate yourself. God's hands are tied until then. God is on our side. When we obligate ourselves, it is only the beginning.
Get rid of the world so it cannot influence us. Obligate to God and follow Him. Giving our best? Following daily? Obligated to Him? Many in Israel did not make it through the journey because they did not obligate themselves to God. Will you go? Let Him lead. Will you follow?
