Ezekiel 14:1 Then came certain of the elders of Israel
unto me, and sat before me. 2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 3
Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the
stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at
all by them? 4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith the
Lord GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his
heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and
cometh to the prophet; I the LORD will answer him that cometh according to the
multitude of his idols; 5 That I may take the house of Israel in their own
heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols. 6Israel,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols;
and turn away your faces from all your abominations. 6 Therefore say unto
the house of Israel,
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols;
and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
This passage, written long before Jesus came, is the same as
today. There are still many idols. The Lord has been merciful to
this country. Has any country been more blessed? We have a land of natural
resources that many countries do not have. We see four complete seasons
that are a joy to see, each having its own special appeal.
We read the following in chapter 13:

22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous
sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that
he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life. We have
seen many changes in our country, that 10 years ago would not have been
tolerated. It makes one wonder what will be next. We can see the end coming
fast.
Chapter14:8 says And
I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb,
and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am
the LORD. Society says anything goes; as long as I do what’s good I’ll be
all right. There are so many false ideas. This is the devil’s job; he lies and
is the father of lies. He convinces people to accept them; when they do he
forsakes them. The Lord is with us everyday. Thank the Lord for salvation.
Everyone will know who the Lord is.
Verse 13 says Son
of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I
stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof,
and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: 14 Though these three men, Noah,
Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by
their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD. In the last few weeks we’ve seen
many things happen. People are loosing money. They say a recession is here. We’re
headed for tough times. Our country has turned against God and He will not
bless that. Verse 18 in
reference to Noah, Daniel, and Job says Though
these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they
shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered
themselves. It doesn’t matter how
well a child is raised. Even if taught in the ways of God, a child is
responsible for himself when he is grown. Everyone is accountable to God.
Judgment comes to everyone. With the Lord we need not
to fear.
