19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in
purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was
a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table:
moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass,

that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the
rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes,
being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that
he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am
tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in
thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but
now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

The rich man had everything. He was at ease. Lazarus wanted the crumbs from his table; he begged for them. He knew and trusted in the Lord because when he died he was carried to Abraham's bosom by the angels. The rich man died and was in hell, the opposite of what he knew in life. He saw Lazarus with Abraham. He asked for water. Abraham said "Son, remember."

In eternity there will be memories. The rich man was told to remember his life and the life of Lazarus. Son, remember he begged and you offered nothing.  Sometimes we take little thought of our neighbors or the poor man down the street. Son, remember.

We are to remember our Creator in the days of our youth so the memories we hold in this life will be more blessed.  The mind is a vast thing that can hold precious keepsakes. The things brought to our minds can be joyous when we give God our lives early in our youth. Son, remember.

Our mind can hold precious keepsakes, but it can be a chamber of horrors. We have no place to hide there. It's a dark place.  Why couldn't I?  Why didn't I?  We need light. We need the Light of God; it is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.  Without it our mind would be a chamber of horrors. Son, remember.

Our mind is a museum of records and events. Everything we do or say is recorded.  We need to watch.   We also need to watch what we don't do.  What could we have done?  Love is not love until you give it away.  All of it will be brought before us at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Son, remember.

Let's set our hearts on things above. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Choose to do God's word. This earth will soon burn. Son, remember.
