The Name Above All Names

Philippians: 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and
given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus
every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth,
and things under the earth;

Billy Sunday said there are 256 names for The Lord in the Bible. They depict His character. Isaiah says His name will be called Wonderful and He was in his birth, life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension.

His name is a SAVING NAME. He is a healer and teacher but HE IS the Savior of the world. He loves sinners everywhere. He saves to the uttermost. He came to seek and to save those which are lost.  We were lost. As a child of God, we no longer belong to Satan. We have the assurance of God because His name is a saving name.

His name is a PRECIOUS NAME. To the child of God He is precious. He is precious for what He has done and will do. We need to appreciate Him more and praise Him more. What's the matter? Why don't we praise Him more?  He is precious!

His name is a COMFORTING NAME. John 14 tells us not to be troubled.  Jesus says for us to come unto Him and He will give us rest.  He comforts the soul. Whisper His name.

His name is a CONQUERING NAME. Philippians 2:10 says that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.  Every knee, every enemy, every heathen God of this world, every dark power of Satan, all who reject Him, every fallen angel–everything will bow and and all will confess. He is conqueror.

His name is an EXALTED NAME. Philippians 2:9 says that God has given Him a name above every name and highly exalted Him.  He is and will be exalted. He took the lowest position on earth. He had no home, no wealth, and was forsaken by His friends. The only thing He called His own was the old rugged cross.

His name is SAVING, PRECIOUS, COMFORTING, CONQUERING, AND EXALTED.  Praise His name!
