Mark 5:21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto
the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
22
And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name;
and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
23 And besought him greatly,
saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee,

come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24
And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26
And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she
had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 When she had
heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
28
For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
29 And
straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her

body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately
knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the
press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said unto
him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32
And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But
the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell
down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her,

Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Let's start this with a little history. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow isn't here. Today is a gift; that's why we call it the present. This is a salvation story that starts with a healing story.

Jesus was on the way to heal Jairus' daughter. There was a big crown that day. Jesus was trying to get through that crowd to go to Jairus' home.  Within that crowd was a helpless woman. She came on the scene wanting for herself the same thing Jairus wanted for his daughter. Somewhere, some time she had heard about Jesus. For 12 years she had been sick. She had been to every doctor; she had tried everything to be healed of her illness.  Spurgen tells us that when the devil comes to our door, let Jesus open it and tell him we don't live there anymore.

This woman had nothing left. She had no hope. This is when we need to get to Jesus. What we need is not for sale.  The things of the world cannot penetrate our heart but Jesus can.  In her despair and due to what she had heard about Jesus she wanted to try him.  In our times of despair we must get to Jesus.  There we find the love we need, the love that will see us through and get us over the despair. His grace is what will take us through.

She wanted to touch just the hem of the garment of Jesus. She knew in her heart that she would be healed. She touched the garment.  In this huge crowd Jesus said "who touched me?"  We know when we've touched the Lord. He knows when we've reached out.  When Jesus said this, the woman was afraid but knelt at the feet of Jesus yet she came and fell at his feet and told him.  We cannot comprend the glory of the Lord.

Faith is what healed her. Faith is whav saved her. That is the power that makes it happen. What more can we ask for but the peace of God?  Verses 35 and 36 tell us not to be afraid, only believe. Without faith it is impossible to please the Lord. But in faith we can do all things through Christ who stengthens us.  By faith there is hope.
