Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into
death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the
Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we
shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the
body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Ephesians 2:1

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in
the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts
of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by
nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved
us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together
in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his
grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is
the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,

which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Some people say that if there was no heaven they would still live for the Lord. I say that if there is no heaven then there is no Lord!  The Bible says If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. Jesus is the Resurrection! Whether in the grave or alive I'll hear the trumpet sound. There is a better world than this, a better time to look forward to. To be part of this resurrection we must be part of another one first.

There is a spiritual resurrection. We were dead in trespasses and sins. Paul said he died daily. At one time he did the will of the flesh. He became quickened by grace, brought to life. When we are not saved we are dead in our sins. Sin takes us to destruction.  In the country we are going there is no greed, murder, stealing. Yes He Can Call Us Out.  Will He Call You Out?

Elijah found places to eat and sleep. A widow woman and her son gave him room. Her son died. Elijah talked to God and laid on the boy mouth to mouth and sent the spirit back into the boy. He resurrected him. Our Savior can resurrect whether death has been 5 minutes or 500 years.

Elisha was provided a room to stay by a woman and her husband. He wanted to do something for her. He offered to speak to the king for her, but she was satisfied with her life as it was. Elisha found out she wanted a child. He told her she would. One day the child was working with his father in the field and his head began to ache. He was taken to his mother. He died in her arms. She took him and laid him on Elisha's bed. She sent word to her husband for a servant and an animal. When he questioned why she said it all would be well. She told the servant to go to Carmel as fast as he could. She was going to find Elisha. When he saw her coming he sent his servant to ask if it was well with her, her husband and her son. She said it was well, but she fell at his feet and reminded him that when he told her she would have a son that she said do not deceive me. Elisha realized what had happened and sent his servant with his staff to lay upon the boy. The woman would not leave until Elisha came with her. They met the servant who told him the boy was still dead.  IT WASN'T IN THE STAFF!  He did as Elijah and laid on the boy. He prayed. The boy became warm and sneezed 7 times and opened his eyes. Dead people don't sneeze!  He was resurrected from the dead.

Upon his death, Elisha was buried in a tomb. The Bible says And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year.

21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men;
and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man
was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up
on his feet.
The man was resurrected from the dead just by touching the bones of Elisha.

Jesus touched many.  And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called
Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold,

there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she
was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
The son was resurrected by Jesus.

He raised Jairus' daughter. His friend Lazarus died.  Jesus was hindered from going there right away.  But God is not governed by time for He created it.Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already. Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

Jesus told them to roll the stone away; He prayed for their sakes that they might believe and yelled Lazarus, come forth! Lazarus came out bound hand and foot.  Jesus said loose him and let him go.

He has power over life. Yet He took our death. He took the beating and didn't say a word. He couldn't speak for He was not on trial.  WE WERE.  We were guilty; there was no defense.  God laid our sin on him and turned His back.  He suffered to the finish line. He was buried and on the third day He arose and many of the saints were resurrected with Him and walked around town.  The people said surely this is the Son of God–SURELY HE IS!

It was sin that brought Jesus to earth the first time.  Do you know what will bring Him the second time?  Sin.  As it was in the days of Noah….lovers of pleasure…lusts of the flesh…
In His grace and mercy He made us alive and will raise us up. He'll come with a shout. We don't know what He'll say but it may be something like what John wrote, come up hither.

Only those who were quickened by the Spirit and resurrected from their sins will go to meet Him. I want to be part of this resurrection; to do so I must be part of "THAT" resurrection– a quickening from trespasses and sins.
