If Ye Have Faith and Doubt Not

Matthew 21:21-22 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done

to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou
removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all
things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

This is not a parable. Can we take it literally? What is your need for the moment? Ask GOD in faith. Faith is not sizable. It's not medium or large. Size is not it…the LORD said just have it—just have faith. And HE said have faith in HIM.

That fig tree looked like a good one; it had leaves. But that's all it had. There was no fruit. HE cursed the tree. It withered away immediately. Of all the miracles that the disciples had seen this must have amazed them the most. HE spoke to a tree, an unintelligent nothing; a tree can't hear yet it died. HE talked to the widow's son, to Lazarus…now HE talked to a tree. It withered away. Jesus proved it; we need to have faith in the LORD.

Faith is not a general term. The devil wants us to think to ourselves "yeah, I have faith"….Yet how many times do we trust the LORD. WHO we believe is important and what we believe determines WHO we'll believe in. Some people make their own ideas about the LORD. They make HIM out to be what they want. Prayer is not just asking GOD. It's not me getting my way. Faith is trusting in SOMEONE and letting HIM get HIS way. What HE does and chooses is best. We cannot give the LORD something and then tell HIM what to do with it. We must let HIS sovereignty rule and just have faith in HIM.

There was no reason for the disciples to doubt. Soon Peter would deny HIM. Soon Thomas would say he wouldn't believe unless he could touch HIM. So the LORD appeared to Thomas and said "be not faithless." We must have faith in GOD. We have no power over GOD. HE has power over us. HE knows what is best to do. HE hasn't opened the door to give us just anything we ask. We don't need to ask for some things. Yet we ask GOD in such detail about what we need I wonder if sometimes HE looks down at us and says "really?"

What is it that I am believe? Is it intuition? Feelings? We have been given something that is tangible. We have been given HIS word. It instructs us. Right and wrong are lined out. If GOD saw that we actually needed that mountain moved, HE would move it. GOD know better. Have faith and whatsoever……

It's not faith in what we want. GOD is not a genie that you rub and get three wishes. It's not what can be done for us but what can be done in us. What can be done in me? In you? We could have everything we want and still not be happy. We could have it all, so to speak, and be miserable. Anything is not what counts. We can be in tiptop shape; that's not important and won't keep us happy.

The fig tree had no fruit. A true Christian produces something. It's a faith that produces something in us. True wealth is what is inside. Have faith and doubt not. We'll be taken care of. All things are possible. There is only one request that we should make….LORD, help me have faith in YOU that all the other things will come to pass as YOU see fit.

Establish what to believe so you will know WHO to believe.
Trust in the LORD.
