Why Me?

Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

Here we see a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years. He was taken to the pool but could not get there first. So he was not healed. Why did Jesus not heal all of them at the pool? Have you ever thought about that. I think we saw the weakest, most needy person there–the one who could not help himself in any way. There were others stronger, but this man felt helpless and hopeless. Jesus asked him and only him a simple question. Wilt thou be made whole? Do you think that a silly question? Have you not ever asked God "why me?"

The man told Jesus he had no man to put him in the pool. He had no man. Job 14:4 says Who can bring a clean thing from an unclean? not one. The lame man was looking that Man in the face. Jesus told the man to rise, take up thy bed and walk. Focus on the man. He man knew it was the Sabbath. He knew he was not to do anything like this on the Sabbath. He knew it went against tradition and political correctness. He had a decision to make. What about science and medicine. Not one. What about a doctor or a wise man? Not one. Who can bring a clean thing from an unclean? not one. Was this the man to do this thing?

There is nothing to hard for God. Our infirmities are nothing to him. Saving souls is more important that healing of the body. For our soul's healing there is ONE MAN, ONLY ONE. He saw this man in greater need than the healing of his disease. When he rose and took up his bed, the Pharisees told him he could not do that. It was against the law. The Lord is still the Lord of the Sabbath. He is the author of every good, decent thing we'll ever have. All eyes focused on the man. Remember eyes are focused on you.

I have an old car. I have sanded and sanded it but that rust comes back. I have had rotted 2×4's. I can't change them. I can't change the soul of man BUT the Lord can make clean out of the unclean. Ezekiel saw no hope for the people. God took him to a valley of dry bones and asked him if the bones could live again. Can He give life to dead bones? The Lord told Ezekiel two things; 1) prophecy to the bones; 2) prophecy to the four winds. There are two parts to all this for us too. We cannot pray "Lord do this; Lord do that" until we've done the part God told us to do. Heaven won't do our work for us.

The healing of this man was a notable miracle. But wholeness is more than health. Wholeness if holding to the eternal hand. God told the man to go to the house of God. GUESS WHO MET HIM THERE! He came to worship him who healed him and has he did this he was made whole–made right with God. If he had not listened to Jesus but to the Pharisees he would have been right back down at the pool. Will you let the world drag you back? We all know of those whom God has touched and healed, but they never turned to thank God. Our salvation is miracle of wholeness. Who did it? The man. We have the right to speak now.

Maybe he was a good man like I was. People would say I was a good old boy. I'd done pretty good all my life, but my heart was not good. I could put on a mask and turn around and smile like most of us do. But if you'd seen my heart. Then He spoke to me. I looked around and saw drug addicts, alcoholics and so on. Why me? Paul was called the chiefest of sinners yet God chose him and made clean out of the unclean. Jesus told Peter to follow him. He was saying wilt thou be made clean? They went straight from there and healed Peter's mother-in-law. He was WONDERFUL. When people didn't understand, He was the COUNSELOR. Jesus sent the disciples out two by two. and the devils were subject to them. He was the ALMIGHTY. Jesus was put in the tomb but rose again the third day. He is the EVERLASTING FATHER. When Peter fell down after he denied the Lord, He was the SAVIOR. He found PEACE.

There was a miracle in the community when you got saved. You were the worst. He found you and said follow me. Suddenly all eyes were upon you. The corruption will not cease until the deliverance from what brought the corruption is taken place. Healing? There is nothing to hard for Him to heal. Why not all in the hospital? Why not people in deeper despair than me? Jesus did not have to die for a healing. He had to die for the healing of heart, soul and spirit. He held out his arms at a great price. He holds the right to save souls.

Everyone that is healed will still go to the grave. Lazarus was raised a mortal man; he died again. But if He would die for you will He not then take care of you? There is not one thing I have that the Lord didn't allow. Some of the things I wanted He did not give me. He is taking care of me. There were many infirmities at the pool; there are billions of people on the earth. Why me? He saw the weakest among you; he saw the most needy among you. That's why HE CHOSE ME!
