Titus 2:11-15: For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world. Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
Verse 11 says the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. According to verse 12, the grace of God teaches us. It shows us how to live. Soberly. Godly– following God. Righteously– living right. Grace enables us to live for God in this present world. Because of His grace, the world should not intimidate us. This world is dark, but the bright spots are those of us in grace. Verse 13 says we have a blessed hope. We have hope for the future; we have hope of His coming. Keep looking up. One day our faith will be sight.
Gravity is considered the weakest force in the universe. The power of God's grace is sufficient. It is unearthly strength for our earthly situation. It will be there for us. We can make it through this present world. Good, although sometimes thrown back in our face, is always stronger than evil. Let the world do what it wants, but if we claim His grace we can live soberly, godly, and righteously.
We do not deserve the grace of God, but He has a plan and purpose for us. We have a goal. We need to walk the way of God. We need to trust Him and let Him lead the way. Verse 14 says He will purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Take the grace of God and go with it. Live by it.
